Common essay ideas

1. Human activities causing environmental issues

• The excessive use of disposable products - due to its convenience, people in modern society use a lot of disposable goods whenever they need to. This causes a large amount of rubbish, which harms the environment. 
• Over-cultivation / over-grazing - due to the increasing world population, feeding the world population has raised concerns. However, these activities cause serious issues such as the emission of greenhouse gases, carbon footprint and pollution.
• The use of vehicles - with people's increasing demands for greater mobility, more cars are being used on a daily-basis. Cars are the main culprit of air pollution since they emit a large amount of carbon dioxide, which damages the atmosphere. 
• Lack of awareness on environmental issues - people do not concern about the environment much and continue damaging the environment. People's lack of interests towards the environment has serious impact.

2. The main green issues in modern society

• Global warming - caused by greenhouse gases, rasing the tmeperature of the earth, damages the ozone layers, causes numerous serious impacts, trapping the heat from the sun, such as the rise of sea levels, the rise of sea temperature, desertification and heat-related diseases.
• The increasing amount of rubbish - caused by mass production and over-use of disposable goods, causes carbon emissions when incineration plants burn it, and it is the main cause of animal extinction nowadays.
• Pollution - caused by the use of chemicals, a large amount of rubbish, affecting people's health and the degradation of soil and water
• The loss of biodiversity - due to various human activities, various animal species become extinct. If a species dies out, the mass extinction can occur, which results in the loss of biodiversity of the plant.
• Deforestation - people log trees for various purposes, and with the decreased number of trees, animals lose their naturla habitats, and it affects the vegetation of the region.

While some people insist that it is essential to pursue economic growth in order to alleviate poverty and hunger, others believe that it must be stopped as it damags the environment. Both views will be discussed, and I am of the opinion that the latter view is more convincing. 

 

On the one hand, development of economy is the key to tackle poverty and starvation. 

(1) improve the quality of life

First of all, the wealthier(economically developed) society leads to the better standard of people's living. If a country's economy develops, it means that fewer people face difficulty on making a living. Natually, this will lead people to pursue better standard of living with less of a concern about financial problems.

(2) economic development lead to a large amount of job opportunities

Secondly, economic development creates job opportunities for unemployed as well as people who face financial crisis. If people can make a certain profit, it would help them to make a living, which will eventually lead to alleviate poverty and starvation. 

 

On the other hand, in order to implement economical breakthough, it is inevitable to damage the environment

with industrialization and urbanization. 

(1) Air pollution - Excessive production wastes a huge amount of resources as well as damaging the environment.

Deforestation is taking place in order to improve the economy. These processes harm the environment devastatingly

In conclusion, even though developing economy is beneficial, I insist that any process which harm the environment should not be carried out. Thus, certain standard of regulations must be imposed in order to pursue both economic growth and the environment protection.

In the daily life, a large amount of food waste is the problem around the world. There are some reasons for this phenomenon, but some solutions can be suggested to tackle the issue.

 

To begin with, people do not cherish food and tend to throw food away if they do not like. 사람들의 인식이 음식을 더이상 소중히 하지 않고, 선호에 맞지 않으면 쉽게 버린다.

In addition, they wasted the yet fresh food only after expired date concerning of their health.
