symptoms of hypoglycemia
1. sweating & pallor
2. irritability
3. tremors & weakness
4. tachycardia
5. drowsiness
6. hunger
-> it presents an immedicate danger to the client because life-threatening neurologic impairment (eg. lethargy, seizures, coma) can occur when the brain becomes glucose depleted.
Nursing intervention for this emergency
1. assess the client
2. check the capillary blood glucose
3. provide a simple carbohydrate snack that can be digested rapidly (juice, soft drink, candy)
