IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Cambridge ESOL과 영국문화원, 호주 IDP가 공동 주최하는 국제공인인증 영어시험.
정책에 따른 기준이 계속 바뀌고 있기 때문에 단언하기 힘들지만 캐나다 및 호주 간호사를 위해 안정적으로는 IELTS Overall 7.0 정도는 가지고 있어야 함.

 
Academic(A) : 대학, 대학원 과정 지원시 필요
General Training(GT) : 이민준비 시 필요.
2가지로 나뉘는데, 간호사는 Academic으로 지원해야 함. 
 
Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking 4가지 평가 모듈이 있고 각각의 평균을 Overall 점수라고 한다. 

Listening Module (30minutes)

There are Four sections and a total of 40 questions.
There are an extra 10 minutes at the end for you to transfer your answers to the answer sheet.
Section 1 ) a conversation in a social situation.
Section 2 ) a monologue on a general subject.
Section 3 ) a conversation between up to four people
Section 4 ) a monologue about a lecture or talk of general academic interest.

Reading Module (60minutes)

There are Three reading passages and a total of 40 questions.
No extra time for transferring your answers to the answer sheet.

Writing Module (60minutes)

There are two tasks, one of at least 150 words and the other of at least 250 words.
In Task 1, you have to look at a diagram or data of some kind and present the information in your own words. (150words, 20minutes)
In Task 2, you have to discuss a current issue, present and justify an opinion or analyse and assess a development or problem. (250words, 40minutes)

words 덜 쓰면 감점.
Tasks의 모든 부분을 다 충족 시켜야 하고, 정확하고 명확하고 관련된 서술을 해야 함.
모든 Tasks의 부분을 디스커스해야 하고 relavent ideas and arguments 가 잘 서포트 되어야 함.
보카, 그래머가 적절하게 잘 어우러졌는지!

Speaking (11-14minutes)

Part 1 introduction and interview
Part 2 Individual long turn - 1minute to prepare / 1-2 minutes to talk about the topic
Part 3 Two-way discussion / I can ask the examiner to rephrase the question.

한번도 정식으로 IELTS를 본 적 없지만, 일단 나는 OPIC IH, TOEIC 920~940정도를 오간다. 캐나다에서 잠깐 들었던 아이엘츠 수업은 아직도 개같은 추억으로 남아있다.(라이팅이 진짜 싫어서 매일 수잔한테 보여주고 해달라했음) 기억을 되살려가며 정규 수업을 듣지 않고 최대한 독학으로 해보고 싶다.

"공수목 영어"로 아이엘츠에 대해 기본적인 시험 유형이나, 특징들을 잘 알 수 있었다. 추천!
 
 
공부 교재는 캠브릿지 공식 서적인 ILETS cambridge 18, 17, 16, 15 정도를 볼 예정이다. 컴퓨터로 시험을 볼 거라서 pdf로 찾아보는 것이 좋을 것 같다.

Listening script를 원어민이랑 똑같이 따라 말하는 연습
Writing 1시간
1, 2 비교 ( 가장 큰 특성 혹은 다른 점을 한번 더 언급 ), 문제 해석하고 아이디어 먼저 생각. 구글링해서 아이디어 발췌.
