[Writing Part 1] Practice for line graph (HW)

The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spreads from 1981 to 2007.

 

The given graph illustrates how much and what types of spreads had been consumed between 1981 and 2007. 

 

Overall, a downward trend was represented in the figures for butter and margarine over the given period, while the figure for low fat & reduced spreads first appeared in 1996 and had a significant change until the final year.

 

In detail, the amount of butter consumed was approximately 140 grams in 1981, which after increased in the next 5 years reaching around 160 grams, the highest comsumption over the given period. After that, it sharply decreased from 1986 to 1996, which then fell gradually at nearly 50 grams in the final year. 

 

Turning to the figure for margarine, it started at about 90 grams in the first year and remained constant until 2001. There was a reduction of 40 grams in the figure for margarine from 2001 to 2007. In the case of low fat & reduced spreads, they started in 1996 at around 10 grams, followed by jumping to just above 80 grams in the next 5 years. Their consumption were slightly decreased by approximately 20 grams in 2007.
